- Put on coffee (everyone knows the party is winding down once coffee is being offered.)
- Offer bag of leftovers to take home with you
- Make excuse in reference to kids having early day tomorrow

- Put them to work--Ask guest to help out, run errands and do things you haven’t had the opportunity to do. (ex: go get ice, put food trays out, etc.)

Never bring guest unannounced or without asking host/hostess
- As a host/hostess you should always be prepared for this
- Don’t make a fuss
- Don’t’ bring it up
- Be welcoming and gracious (this is what the holidays are about)

Getting out of a conversation
- Use catchphrases to excuse yourself
- Try and change subject
- Make an excuse to go and help the host/hostess
- Excuse yourself to get a drink
Person who drinks too much at the party
Are they a good drunk or bad drunk?
It’s ok if the person is adding life to the party but make certain he/she has safe
transportation home. If the person is not adding life to the party, ask someone to
take the guest home or provide safe transportation for him/her.
